LCCM 2024 Recap

Full disclosure: The last 7+ years have been a wild ride. With countless ups and downs, plot twists and pivots, lessons learned, and humble pie eaten, we’ve realized (again and again) that business ownership isn’t for everyone. Honestly? There were moments when we weren’t sure it was even for us.

In 2023, we set a BIG goal: growth. More employees = more clients = more revenue. Ultimately, we dreamed of taking a step back and letting our team run the show. But as anyone who’s ever managed a team knows, the reality is never that simple. We faced challenges we didn’t anticipate, from managing a growing team to maintaining the quality of work we’re known for. Though we worked with some incredible women (we’re so grateful for each of them!), by the end of the year, it was clear we needed to reassess.

In early 2024, we lost one of our core team members and decided not to replace her. Instead, Liv and I made what we fondly call “The Pivot.” We stepped back from our autopilot dream and leaned fully into what we love most: being hands-on with our business. It was a bold move, but as we poured our hearts back into LCCM, something magical happened. The weight we’d been carrying began to lift. Our clients were happier, our team felt re-energized, and, without realizing it, we entered a new era.

As this year comes to a close, we can proudly say we’re producing our best work ever. These two small-town ADHD girlies started LCCM on a living room floor in March 2017 with big dreams and little business knowledge. If you’d told 23-year-old Liv and 26-year-old Sarah what we’d end up building, we probably would’ve laughed (and spilled our rosé). Back then our dreams were big, but shapeless compared to what we’ve actually accomplished. Today, we’ve turned those dreams into something we’re so proud of.

When I sat down to write this, I didn’t expect to say all this. But one of our commitments this year has been transparency, and this is the raw, unfiltered truth. The last seven years have been HARD. We’ve made mistakes, faced setbacks, and learned more lessons than we can count. But every “oopsie” and “bad idea” has been a chance to grow in a way that transcends revenue, and we’re incredibly proud of how far we’ve come.

To our team: you are absolute diamonds, and we’re so lucky to work with each of you. To our clients and everyone who’s partnered with us this year: thank you for trusting us with your dreams. To our families: you keep us sane, support our dreams (no matter how wild they are) and keep us fed.

As we look ahead to 2025, we’re brimming with excitement and BIG plans. If you’ve ever been curious about working with a marketing agency that gets you, let’s chat. We’d love to meet you, hear your goals, and see how we can help make them happen. Here’s to another year of authentic growth, learning lessons, and doing kickass work that we’re proud of!

Xoxo,
